Jakaar Industries
Jakaar Industries like many business faced issues with management of resources in a confined space. Larger premises were required and the decision was made to relocate from Manurewa to East Tamaki. Whilst the design of the roof is standard in terms of commercial construction the building has a unique aspect to it that has eventuated through innovation on the part of Metalcraft Structural.
In commissioning a new purlin manufacturing plant Metalcraft Structural has been able to make two unique purlin sizes, MSS 325/15 and MSS 275/15. For the Jakaar job MSS 325/15 purlins were installed to the roof and MSS 300/15 girts to the walls. The MSS 325/15 has equivalent spanning capabilities to the heavier MSS 300/18. The benefit of using the 325/15 is a lighter product, but one equal in strength, which delivers a quality finish and performance but with gains as the material yield per tonne of the MSS 325/15 is greater.
